Eco Village ideas and plans

  Messages & Comments
I found this outline and I really like it as a guideline for creating our own guidelines.;_ylt=Au5FeciJhSQM0IA_WDvC9w6ZCMZ_;_ylu=X3oDMTBoZXBvYzBnBHNlYwNVSCBTZWFyY2ggMTAw;_ylg=X3oDMTBhYWM1a2sxBGxhbmcDZW4tVVM-;_ylv=3?p=sustainable+eco+villages&fr=ush-globalnews

this is the Homepage for this site:

I looked at their eco village building & layout guides and they have all their houses in a row and everything inline without any organic flow... and I don't really think when we purchase property it will be in a nice little pie shape... lol

I envison more of a cluster of homes with a central meeting place, gardens, and what ever else we want to include looking more like the petals of a flower around the center meeting place.

Peace, Kirsten

mamamoocow kind of a nice idea, but i would see that if you want to expand later, or put in a working farm then this design would not allow for those changes

Jubilee Personally I feel that it would be best to define an area to be used for housing and gatherings and allow members to choose where to locate their homes.

Jubilee Just seems more organic that way.

NobodysDarlings I like the idea, but i kinda agree with mamamoocow. I think if you kept the petal idea, but separated the petals into different area's, you would better allow yourself for growth as needed, yet still keep everything centered around a common area. Find a small town to model a layout off of...

Janille McGee What kind of space are we looking at here? Are we talking each petal is a house/garden or just a house, and how much space does one person/family need? Is there a way to build off of this model so that growth can occur?

digger73 I really like clustered houses or pods that I like to call em, you could have 5 in a circle with a gazebo and green area in the middle for social gatherings and bbq's. the outside of the cluster can be used for farming etc. good concept, lets hear more.

Williamtree26 I have a similar design in mind. Using rammed earth, earthbag or cob and it's either bermed or underground. . The center would be 40-60 feet with 4 fish pools(cheap pools from Wal-Mart simplest) creating an aquaponic greenhouse. Using tops of petals as fodder fields. While underneath dwellings for both humans and animals just build up the walls of the petals to also function as fencing . Going to be very labor intensive but end result would more than likely last several lifetimes. Each portal between 1/2-3/4 acre. Looking at property in Oregon right now.

Williamtree26 Space between petals could function as garden areas for seasonal growing and personal spaces.

Williamtree26 Think like a Zen doodle. Each section performs a separate function while being connected to the whole. Each portal has a sort of double wall with approximately 8' gap. In that gap is the black water system with fruit trees and other edible hardy plants.

Williamtree26 Sorry it keeps saying portal. I fix it but it keeps changing back on my phone.

Williamtree26 Finally at the tip of each petal I would like to plant a giant sequoa. Fast growing and grounding in nature.

Leeza DOLMEN APPEAL-REQUEST We appeal to people who began to "open their eyes" and saw the horror of their situation. You take a hectare of land and create your own Space of Love. But you begin building your Space of Love with a building. For today to build a house, you need to think about money, where to get them, where to buy building materials, and cheaply, how to bring everything there, where to find people, to build, and pay less for it... And it turns out that the first thought with which you begin to create your Space of Love, just think about these words - SPACE OF LOVE - try to really understand, fully penetrate all the depth and significance of your creation, not only for you, but for all your Kin, for your children, grandchildren, and so on. But it turns out that your first thought is self-serving. We very well see the energy of your thoughts. You are doing yourself irreparable harm, without understanding it yourself. But your ignorance does not change anything. Your first thought should be selfless, however good it may be. Do not start creating your Love of Space with the construction of houses. And start with your Love, giving it to the Earth to the fullest! Spend a year on this, just live there and tell your space about yourself. Tell it everything about your parents, about grandparents, about all your close relatives. Ask the Space to allow you to enter it, and do not invade the earth. What kind of love can you talk about if you are invaders? When you plant new plantings of trees, bushes and even flowers, ask for permission from the Space. And anyway, everything you do on your hectare, first tell the Space, why you do it, what is it needed for. You already know how important it is to harmoniously merge with nature. She's alive. And for this to happen - the first energy sent from you should be LOVE. But today you come to a hectare, start planning: here this will be ..., there will be that ..., but the Space has not accepted you, it rejects you. You start digging the earth, but it's alive, just like you. First, explain to the Earth and ask for permission, and then do it. And do not forget about God, because everything is one. The real Space of Love is in you, and everything around you - it strengthens you. And the purity of your thoughts in this plays a major role. After all, only people are self-serving, everything else is selfless. "You brought with you love and understanding, in return you will receive love and acceptance." HAPPY WORLD-information from people who have gone to Eternity ▫▫▫ From the book by A. Savrasov "Knowledge stored by dolmens."
