Hello, My name is Andie. I've worked in wholistic healthcare throughout my career. A big part of my way of life is to be eco-conscious, which includes recycling, being aware of packaging and the products I choose and reducing my footprint via solar panels and personal habits.
As I'm moving toward retirement, or at least curtailing my work hours, I'm looking more at reducing my overhead across the board. I am single and don't want to base my future on the hopes of bringing in a partner. So I'm interested in learning more about eco-villages in the area.
I have a few female friends who, like me, are single again in their 40s, 50s & 60s and trying to plan their retirement futures. Our vision has always been to find land and build a structure that has a central kitchen and living area and several private bedroom/bath/lounge rooms off the public area.
This is an initial foray into the idea of communal living, so any information you can offer on the pros, cons, locations and variables on the theme will be welcomed.
